I'm an experienced storyteller, journalist and audio producer.
I am currently working as a senior news producer for Morning Edition on (NPR-member station) KCRW in Southern California.
​
As a daily news producer, I consistently write and report on the various complexities of life in Los Angeles as it relates to local government, climate change, health, policy, inequity, transportation and the environment.
​
As a freelance journalist, I have experience with feature writing, news writing, audio journalism and production, copy editing, research, writing for social media and more along with design, photography, coding and videography.
​
Outside of storytelling, I love to read novels, tap dance, spend time with my dog and paint.
Work Experience
Senior News Producer, Reporter // KCRW
July 2022 - Present
• Write, edit, cut sound and record segments for the KCRW local morning newscast and occasionally for NPR's national feed
• Book guests, conduct interview preparation, write and edit scripts and edit audio for Q&As with the Morning Edition host
• Set the editorial agenda for newscasts during Morning Edition, steer coverage for All Things Considered in the afternoons
• Produce breaking news reports and update as necessary
• Write accompanying digital content for on-air segments and features
• Report, write, voice and edit occasional long-form audio features. Report from the field when required
• Communicate with the studio crew and host while on-air
Science Desk Intern // BuzzFeed News
January - May 2022
• Worked with my assigned reporter on the Science desk to develop story ideas, research, track or find sources and write climate-related stories for BuzzFeed News—including one that landed on the front page of BuzzFeed News' digital Health section.
• Live Tweeted a climate protest in downtown Los Angeles for BuzzFeed News' social.
